Course Outcomes

Staff are provided with essential knowledge, skills and understanding about the Thrive Approach to enable them to support the social and emotional development of all children in their setting.

This course equips delegates with an understanding of how all staff can support children’s social and emotional wellbeing and development. It provides an introduction to the key theories underpinning the Thrive Approach, as well as opportunities to practise relational skills, learn about the Thrive-Online assessment and action-planning tool and reflect on the right-time needs of all children, as well as the needs of those who experience difficulties.

Who is it for?

This course is intended for all staff in a primary school or setting, to ensure that all children benefit from a whole-school approach to wellbeing and positive mental health.

For settings new to Thrive, free access to Thrive-Online is included for 30 days from the date of the training day. Please note that a software subscription needs to be in place following this period in order to have ongoing access to Thrive-Online thereafter.

Costs (excluding VAT):

  • £1,000 for up to 20 members of staff
  • £2,000 for up to 100 members of staff
  • £2,600 for over 100 members of staff

For settings that would like to commission a face-to-face training session, there is a flat rate charge of £470 per trainer per day (or part thereof) plus VAT.

What you'll learn

The benefits of this training for a school are:
  • Staff are provided with essential knowledge, skills and understanding about the Thrive Approach to enable them to support the social and emotional development of all children in their setting.
  • It supports the senior leadership team and Thrive Licensed Practitioners with the process of embedding a whole-school approach to Thrive.
  • Staff will gain a greater understanding of children’s needs and behaviours and some basic tools for supporting them.
  • It ensures there is parity of knowledge about Thrive among staff across the organisation, promoting staff wellbeing and information-sharing.

Course structure

This course is delivered as two 3-hour virtual training sessions using the Zoom Meetings platform. Each session will include a mixture of direct teaching from the Thrive Licensed Trainer, experiential activities and discussions. Delegates will be expected to engage in all activities and discussions.

  • Thrive essentials - triune brain, developmental model, the impact of trauma, PACE and the VRFs

Session 2

  • Introduction to the session
  • Understanding right-time development for primary school aged children
  • Thrive-Online demonstration workshop
