Thrive Inductions - Halton Borough Council

Discover the role you can play in implementing Thrive as a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing.

Thrive Inductions are suitable for all colleagues and will equip everyone with fundamental theory and practice.

There are two options to choose from - please ensure you register for an Induction that suits the ages of the pupils you work with.

  • Childhood - for staff working with primary aged children (4 to 11 year olds)
  • Adolescence - for staff working with secondary aged pupils (11 to 18 year olds)

What you'll learn

These sessions build on the free ‘Introduction to Thrive’ module in Thrive-Online. You will deepen your understanding of how to be in relationship with pupils, and explore what to do to best support their social and emotional learning in the classroom and around the school.

Course structure

The 3-hour training covers the following topics:

  • What’s involved in becoming a Thrive professional
  • How to harness the power of relationship to support the age-related social and emotional needs of children and young people
  • How to work with pupils who have unmet needs from earlier in their development
  • How to apply Thrive-Online in practice
  • How to continue your professional learning
