If you’re ready to join the other 19 Middlesbrough schools already using Thrive to re-engage pupils and promote regular attendance, book a Discovery Call with Faith, Dom or Simone.
These 30-minute calls are an opportunity for you to have your questions answered, find out if Thrive could be a fit for your setting and for us to update you on the Thrive funding available from Middlesbrough local authority.

Delyth Linacre, Principal at Easterside Academy, Middlesbrough shares how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted their school absence rate and how Thrive supported a change by opening communication channels and making sure every voice is heard.
I started my Thrive journey roughly the same time that I took on the newly created role of Middlesbrough Council’s Specialist Teacher SEMH. After a lot of research I enrolled on the Thrive Licensed Practitioner course and then the Adolescent conversion course. I had previously worked with many children with challenging behaviours in a variety of settings, including a Secondary School, a PRU, a BESD school and for Middlesbrough Council working with permanently excluded pupils. For me, Thrive offered a scientifically based explanation for many of the interventions I had already seen to be effective. Thrive provides a structured means of assessing children both individually or in groups and creating practical action plans, it also facilitates the monitoring of progress. I am confident that over the last year we have been able to help a number of children remain in school by using Thrive as a part of a range of support interventions. Here in Middlesbrough we have a number of Primary Schools where Thrive is already embedded – it would be great to see that number increase and also see Thrive used in our Secondary Schools.
The Thrive Approach consists of:
1. Thrive-OnlineTM (TOL) - a web-based profiling, action-planning and progress monitoring tool enabling you to ensure the best outcome for each child or group.
2. Thrive training - focusing on the emotional needs of different age groups, informed by established neuroscience and attachment research, as well as child development studies and research into risk and resilience factors.
With our HQ based in Devon, Thrive is a business that works with local authorities, multi-academy trusts (MATs), individual schools and other settings across Great Britain. To date, more than 50,000 staff have received Thrive training, ensuring that over 627,000 children and young people have access to the Thrive Approach, changing lives and increasing educational attainment levels.
